Legume Biochar Fertilizer Can Be an Efficient Alternative to Compost in Integrated Nutrient Management of Paddy (Oryza sativa L.)

چکیده
Continuous use of chemical fertilizers is detrimental to soil health and crop productivity. Therefore, we need recycle the agroresidues in valorized form (e.g., biochar or compost) improve quality while maintaining yield. This study compares different nutrient management practices using varied dose combinations biochar/compost for sustainable production rice. We present results from a controlled environment under nine options assess effect novel legume fertilizer compared with legume-derived compost. Our suggest that relatively smaller test-based balanced fertilization (75% required nutrients) added (25% equivalence) best combination nutrient-poor vertisols semi-arid tropics. The yield benefits might find relevance similar total–N content compost, although there are noticeable differences other macronutrients, secondary, micronutrients. surface area C:N ratio significantly higher (i.e., 4.47 m2g?1; 37.68) than compost 0.87m2g?1; 10.5) which provides boost rhizospheric interactions resulting plant uptake improved growth attributes at lower doses. In addition, integrated mineral improves organic carbon harvest paddy by 44–54% sole meager increase (10–15%) suggests alternative (as fertilizer) can have policy implications developing carbon-negative technique farming.

Rice (Oryza sativa L) plantation affects the stability of biochar in paddy soil
Conversion of rice straw into biochar for soil amendment appears to be a promising method to increase long-term carbon sequestration and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The stability of biochar in paddy soil, which is the major determining factor of carbon sequestration effect, depends mainly on soil properties and plant functions. However, the influence of plants on biochar stability in...
متن کاملOsiris: an integrated promoter database for Oryza sativa L
SUMMARY Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is an important model monocot and cereal crop. While the rice genome sequence has been published and annotated, relatively little is known about the transcriptional networks that regulate rice gene expression. For this reason, we have developed Osiris, a database containing promoter sequences, predicted transcription factor (TF) binding sites, gene ontology annota...
متن کاملThe potential for carbon bio-sequestration in China's paddy rice (Oryza sativa L.) as impacted by slag-based silicate fertilizer.
Rice is a typical silicon-accumulating plant. Silicon (Si), deposited as phytoliths during plant growth, has been shown to occlude organic carbon, which may prove to have significant effects on the biogeochemical sequestration of atmospheric CO2. This study evaluated the effects of silicate fertilization on plant Si uptake and carbon bio-sequestration in field trials on China's paddy soils. The...
متن کاملIntegrated nutrient management and LCC based nitrogen management on soil fertility and yield of rice (Oryza Sativa L.)
The experiment was conducted at lowland series of wet lands, International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) Farm, Los Banos, Laguna, Philippines. The rice variety PSBRc 82 was raised during wet season (June – October), and the experiment was laid out in randomized block design with four replications. There were eleven treatments viz., control, recommended NPK fertilizer, -N, -P, -K, LCC 3, LCC 4,...
متن کاملDetection of fumonisin producing Fusarium verticillioides in paddy (Oryza sativa L.) using polymerase chain reaction (PCR)
The study reports the occurrence of fumonisin producing Fusarium verticillioides in 90 samples of stored paddy (Oryza sativa L.) collected from different geographical regions of Karnataka, India. Fumonisin producing F. verticillioides was identified based on micromorphological characteristics and PCR using two sets of primers. One set of primers was F. verticillioides species specific, which se...
